Watching Twighlight now…figured I would post this for you all to see!

Woke up this morning very tired, but my little Bella always keeps me in the best of moods. I had a late band practice last night, where we kind of felt overwhelmed. Just so much on the go, and it seems like, not enough time to do everything! The first music video is coming out soon! What I am learning in the business is that “tomorrow” actually mean “next week”. So when people ask me, when are you performing next, I can’t really give them a 100% answer.

What is 100% however, is a gig on Sunday. If you are in Toronto this weekend, be sure to check me and Alex Lacasse out at 7:50PM at the Dundas Square Stage. We will be performing in front of 12,000 people…WOW! I have done that before, but not in a while, so I am sort of nervous. We will be performing three songs, one of which is the hit song Like This Like That, and his second upcoming single which you will hear on the radio very soon called “My Girl”. I think I like this song more than the current song, it’s just got a fun beat! But they are both really awesome.

If you are interested in coming out, here is the poster:

On another note, please continue to support me :) Each CD sold allows me to live me dream! THANK YOU TO ALL MY FANS! Stay strong!

Good morning everyone,

Things have been so exciting lately! I have been busy working with Alex Lacasse, and building my own home recording studio. Thanks to my friend Mike Guilbeault, founder of MockTrial Productions, I will soon have three professional music videos to show you all! They should be posted next week - thank you Mike!

After nearly 7 months of rehearsing, the Chantal Hackett band is officially ready to go! I can’t book live shows yet, because I’m still on-call with Alex, meaning if he has a gig, I have to be there no matter what. So for now, we plan on continuing to upload videos on youtube and get our name out that way.

The Chantal Hackett Band

I wrote a new song, and tonight I’m going out with my friends downtown. I cannot wait to catch up with them. Seems that now I barely have time for anyone, my house is a mess too! This weekend will definitely be a relaxing one. But I am going to have to clean!!!

Happy weekend everyone!!!

Hi everyone,

Last night was a great night! It was Alex and the band’s first show. As you all know by now (and if not, well now you know!) I’ve joined the band as the lead background singer and keytarist! I’m new to the keytar, so playing it gets some getting used to. Even though I was a little nervous last night since this was our first showcase as a group, I had a great time and we did an amazing job! Compliments left and right. Needless to say, we we’re really happy and proud of ourselves, all these weeks of practicing over and over had finally paid off!

The event was held in Toronto in the Gladstone Hotel for a popular music festival called NXNE (http://nxne.com/). Not only was it fun, but I got to meet some great people! For one, Nellie Furtado was there (I couldn’t believe I was singing in front of her and that we actually spoke and how nice she was). Here is a picture of us - you can tell I am a little starstruck! :)

As the night went on, I got to meet many band member’s and members at Universal Music Canada that work with Alex. I also met Nellie’s background singer, Celia Palli, who has recently who plans to continue to promote her own songs and album. Check out her site, she sounds and looks great!

The night ended on an extremely high note. Alex is now in Vancouver promoting his music in that area for the week. Our next performance is coming up on June 26, here in Ottawa at the Shenkman Arts Centre with my wonderful vocal students who will each perform original music and popular acoustic covers. A night of entertainement for sure! 1$ from each ticket sold goes to a non-profit organization called “To Write Love on Her Arms” TWLOHA, is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery. So come support us and of course listen to some great tunes! Check out our poster!

Lastly, I thank you all for your support - as for my music, I plan on posting another video hopefully soon, and more songs on my facebook fanpage. Thank you for following me in this little adventure, and hopefully even bigger things will come, who knows!

Here is a sneek peak at Alex Lacasse’s music video for Like This Like That! I’m really so excited :)

Goodnight!

It has finally come! Alex Lacasse and the band’s (which I am in… :) ) first video! It’s a cover song called “OMG!” The original by Usher is currently all over the charts at #1! I can’t tell you how exciting this is…I’m learning so much and I’m only 2 months in! Hope you all enjoy it :)

Hey all,

Things have been busy - however for the good. The good news? I’m going on a brand new tour this summer with artist Alex Lacasse, who’s song is currently #1 on hot 89.9. Just got this brand new keytar in from Universal Music Canada, it is very cool! I could be on that thing all night, every night, so many special effects and stuff, it’s nuts!

Lot’s happening…will keep you posted!

Hi everyone,

Past couple of weeks have been busy. Just trying new things, and feeling just a tiny bit overwhelmed. I wrote a song about it…just lot’s of really interesting things are happening in my life. One being my new puppy Bella, who just keeps me so busy. After a long day at work, I often like to relax and just take it easy, when I can. There is none of that with Bella around. But you know what? As much as I would like to sit there and watch TV, do nothing and relax (knowing me, I will just do work, or keep myself busy anyway), what’s nice about having Bella around is that she kind of forces me to go outside. Ever since she has been in my life, I have met so many people, and I actually think I have lost a little weight because we walk together so often. The weather has been a little strange…and when it rains, she hates it!

Been hanging out with my friend Christiane who has been a huge help in my latest “news” which I cannot really share at this point in time…still a little secret, but I’m very excited to tell you all very soon.

Something I am also excited about is Sing House Studios’ upcoming show at the Shenkman Arts Centre in Ottawa. The show will showcase young singers and songwriters that will WOW you. They are amazing kids and teens and young adults who all share the same interest: peace love and music :) Check out a couple of our pics (the photoshoot started out as a serious thing but then just became crazy…as you can see!)

Music has helped me pull through these really busy times. I am about to embark in a life changing experience. As I sit here and type, I am finally able to reflect, breathe in and possibly sleep soon…

To all who have been trying to reach me the past couple of weeks, I still love you - I am just really busy and I promise for good reason!

Goodnight :)

Hey everyone,

Been really busy trying to think up some ideas…ideas on how to sing to all of you! There is nothing I love more. Each and every single day, I receive some amazing support from my fans, and I can’t thank you enough. Every week, I’m going to record some songs I love, and hope that you will love them too! This was kind of a test to see if you would respond to the videos, and so far so good! I’ve been told “Keep them coming!”. The next video will be up on May 5th, on my facebook fanpage and additional videos will be posted on my site. Please share this link if you can :)

On another note,

I have a new friend. Her name is Bella, my new puppy. She is so adorable, and the most kind hearted companion I could ever ask for. She’s getting used to listening to the music, and the singing. Here she is:

Oh wait, she’s barking, gotta go….
